It takes about 60 seconds. You've watched your child sit in a classroom for six hours and come home vibrating. The school calls it energy. You call it who your child is. And you've started to wonder whether there's a school that works with that instead of against it. A school where movement isn't the break between learning. It is learning. Where your child discovers coordination on the golf course, discipline in martial arts, resilience through wrestling, and teamwork on the flag football field. That school exists. It's on Cleveland Road in Huron.

What the school day looks like

Your child starts the day with a free breakfast. The academic program is standards-based and structured. But the school day doesn't stop at reading and math. Students rotate through thirteen sports throughout the year. Every sport teaches a different physical skill and a different social-emotional lesson. Winning with grace. Losing without quitting. Listening to a coach. Supporting a teammate who's struggling. These aren't character education posters. They're the actual daily experience.

Thirteen sports. Not one. Thirteen.

Cheerleading. Dance and gymnastics. Dodgeball. Flag football. Golf. Handball. Jump rope. Kickball. Martial arts. Pickleball. Spikeball. Ultimate frisbee. Wrestling. Your child doesn't specialize at age six. He or she explores. He or she finds the sport that clicks, the one that builds confidence, the one that turns "I can't" into "watch me." And every sport teaches the same through-line: respect, discipline, and how to handle the moment when things don't go your way.

Summer doesn't stop

Summer camps keep students active and learning during the break months. The hands-on, active learning experiences continue so your child doesn't spend June through August losing what he or she gained during the school year.

Huron Sports Academy is publicly funded. There is no cost to enroll. Your child is five, six, seven years old. These are the years when athletic habits form, when confidence either builds or erodes, when a child either learns to love movement or learns to sit still and hate it. If the school your child is in right now offers thirty minutes of recess and calls it enough, you already know it isn't. You've read what this academy does. Here's where you find out if it's right for your child.
